What Bedriftssjekk is
Bedriftssjekk returns facts about Norwegian limited companies (AS and ASA) from open public registers. You can use it at bedriftssjekk.cosmotech.no or through ChatGPT. The service shows information about companies, not about people.
When you search (website and ChatGPT)
- What we receive: the company name or organisation number you search for. Through ChatGPT, only this search is sent to us. We do not request your conversation, your account or your location.
- What we do with it: we look it up in the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises and the Register of Company Accounts and return the answer. We do not store the search and we do not link it to you.
- Abuse protection: to prevent overload we count requests per connection. We use a short encoded version of the IP address (a salted hash), never the address itself. Through ChatGPT the connecting address belongs to OpenAI's servers, not your device. The counters are deleted automatically within 48 hours.
- Personal data in answers: answers concern companies. We show no personal names (managing director, board, owners). If a company's registered name contains a person's name, that is part of the company name.
Sources
- The Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises (Enhetsregisteret) and the Register of Company Accounts (Regnskapsregisteret), published by the Brønnøysund Register Centre as open data under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). The source is stated in each answer.
- Website only: Google Maps (rating, review count, opening hours, address, status) and the company's own front page. These are fetched at each lookup and not stored. They are not used in ChatGPT.

The form on the website
If you submit the form you provide your name, email, company and optionally a message. We also store the organisation number you checked and how you reached the page (channel and landing page, not IP address). The basis is your consent. The details are emailed to us and recorded in our customer system (HubSpot). We delete them when you ask, or at the latest two years after the last contact if no cooperation follows. This does not apply to use through ChatGPT.
Your rights
You may ask for access, correction and deletion, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to hei@cosmotech.no. You may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet). Errors in register data are corrected at the Brønnøysund Register Centre.
